This is a course designed teach mountaineering techniques in a spring ski conditions. Learn the skills that compliment ski touring and expand what is possible on skis.  This course will teach you the mountaineering skills necessary to take advatage of the spring season. Many of the skills will carry over directly to summer mountaineering.

May 2- 9, 2015

This is an advanced level course designed for skiers wishing to become ski guides. The course will emphasize learning but will include mountaineering summits.  Objectives will vary depending on conditions, but may include the 5 Lyell peaks (all over 11,000 feet), Icefall peak, Lens Peak, and mons Peak. There is plenty of heavily glaciated big mountain terrain as well as many unskied lines to explore.

Ski tour with a guide at Rogers Pass and enjoy the best deep powder skiing to be had.  Situated at the crest of the Selkirk Mountains, 45 minutes from Revelstoke, British Columbia, Rogers Pass is the premier backcountry ski touring destination in Canada. It catches the big storms coming off the Pacific but is far enough inland that the powder stays light and dry.

Private Guiding is available at a rate of 450/ day. You can hire a private guide for yourself or a group. The advatage of hiring a guide privately is that you can customize the trip to your schedule or preferences instead of sticking to a set itinerary. If you want to climb a specific peak, we can accommadate you just about anywhere in the world. If you are looking for intense learning a one to one course can get you the skills fast. Icefall Brook and Icefall Canyon offers possibly the best waterfall ice climbing destination in the world. Since the first trip into the area in 1993, every party that has made the journey has raved about the ice climbing. A 2 km long, horseshoe shaped canyon with waterfall ice on all sides. There are about 20 established routes with many unclimbed lines and unlimited mixed climbing potential. The climbs are up to 600m long.

This is an introductory course designed for skiers and boarders looking to increase their knowledge and decision making skills in the winter environment. This course will provide the skills necessary to lead ski trips in the mountains. With Simple, Challenging and Complex terrain out the front door to Icefall Lodge, the field time is of high quality.  In 8 days you get to live and breathe with the mountain weather and experience how it will affect our avalanche conditions.
